2008

The City and County of Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World, cordially invites you to attend a historic event, CELEBRATE BANDERA on Labor Day Weekend.

This year we have more events than ever, but our most exciting event is the YO Ranch Longhorn Cattle Drive. Admission to this event is just $35.00 per person, with all net proceeds benefiting the Bandera Community Foundation. Bandera was a major supply point on the Western Trail, and there isn’t a better way to celebrate than to join the reenactment of this famous cattle drive.

Participants arrive around 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the State Hill Country Natural Area, at the end of FM1077 (Bandera Creek Road). There you will check in and settle your horses for the night. If you are renting a horse, you can meet with the outfitter and have your horse assigned. Registration for the ride will begin at 4:00 p.m. and go until 7:00 p.m. that evening. There will be no registrations taken on Saturday morning, so please sign up in advance.

Rise early on Saturday, saddle up and come to breakfast. It'll be a biscuits and gravy Chuck Wagon Breakfast with camp coffee and juice. Then we'll be head ‘em up and move ‘em out on the road to Bandera. Breakfast begins at 6:00 a.m. and ends promptly at 6:45 a.m.

We are taking a limited number of reservations for this cattle drive. Please come be a part of this historic event. For more information call 830-796-4447 or e-mail us at coordinator@celebratebandera.com.

Carey Reed,
