No bull, you can win $2,500
Once again, the popular Cow Patty Bingo is back as a fundraising event for the Bandera Community Foundation during Celebrate Bandera 2011. Tickets are now on sale for $20 each, and the winner receives $2,500.
The event will take place Saturday, September 3, in the parking lot of Super S Foods. Hondo Bank and Super S Foods are co-sponsoring this event. Festivities will kick off at 9 a.m. with a breakfast taco sale, music and door prizes. To be eligible for a door prize, you must have purchased a Cow Patty Bingo square and show your numbered ticket to the event coordinators in order to receive a raffle ticket. You must be present to win door prizes; however, the winner of the grand prize does not need to be present to win.
Promptly at 10 a.m., a longhorn steer with a really full belly will be released into the pen which has been marked with a grid consisting of 500 numbers drawn out in 2' X 2' squares. Whoever holds the number of the square where the longhorn decides to drop a patty is the winner of the $2,500 prize. There is only one winner, and the decision of the judge concerning which square has received the most percentage of patty is final. The Boys and Girls Club will also walk away as a big winner from the Cow Patty Bingo event thanks to Hondo Bank and Super S Foods who have each given sponsorships in the amount of $2,500, making a total of $5,000 earmarked for opening a new Boys and Girls Club in Lakehills. The grants will be awarded to the Boys and Girls Club by the Bandera Community Foundation, founder and organizer of Celebrate Bandera. As a special added bonus this year, the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation has agreed to match the sponsorship monies, making a full $10,000 available to the Boys and Girls Club.
Celebrate Bandera, now in its 10th year, is a production of the Bandera Community Foundation and is the main fundraising project of the year for the organization.
