Bandera’s largest event of the year, Celebrate Bandera, is just around the corner. Each year folks start staking out their spot earlier and earlier to get a prime spot to watch the Texas Longhorn Cattle Drive and the Celebrate Bandera parade make their way down Main Street.
We invite you to enter and be a part of the parade on Saturday, August 31, at 11:00 AM. There is no cost to participate and entries of all types are encouraged. To facilitate creating the line-up and script all entries should be received by August 23. We will be judging the parade this year and awarding prizes to the top two entries in each class. Judging will take place at 10:15 AM. Additional parade rules are enclosed with the entry form.
In addition to the cattle drive and parade, Bandera will be busting at the seams with activities and entertainment. The courthouse square will be filled with an arts and crafts fair and will feature entertainment and historical re-enactors; and Mansfield Park hosts the Circle of Life Intertribal Pow Wow. Saturday night Mansfield Park will feature a Wild West Show and The National Professional Bull Rider's Challenge. Sunday, September 1, is also filled to the brim with activities.
