Basic Rules and Registration Info:
All dancers must register and receive a number before the first Grand Entry. You must be in all 3 Grand Entries and dance during the Powwow in your category. Dancers will be judged on performance. You must also be in your regalia to receive prize money on Sunday. All dancers must register in the appropriate category, based on age and regalia attire. Dancers can only register for one category. Dancers wanting to challenge the Judge's decision will be required to pay a $20 challenge fee. Any dancer who loses a major piece of regalia during dance competition is asked to disqualify themselves voluntarily or be disqualified by the head judge. Dyed hackles or plumes are not considered a major part of an outfit. A detailed Competition Rule Sheet will be given to each dancer who registers. Our overall effort is to make this competition fun and fair for all dancers.
Arts, Crafts and Food
Beautiful jewelry, beadwork, sculptures, paintings and much more can be found at the various vendor booths that are located around the powwow arena. Please take your time and give each booth a look. Everyone will be sure to find a native treasure that will be a must have for you! Feeling hungry? A delicious variety of food will also be available to purchase throughout the Powwow area.
