Dancers Information
HELLO DANCERS!
This year we are adding a chance for you to make some extra cash. This is still going to be a non-competition powwow and always will, but this year we will try and help out with a little money. Overall, we will have a $2,400.00 payout!
Best of Category Dancer...
There will be one winner from each category at the end of the Powwow on Sunday who will be awarded $300. Please consider being a part of this contest and represent your tribal culture.
We will have the following categories:
Men's Traditional Dancer Women's Buckskin Dancer
Men's Grass Dancer Women's Cloth Dancer
Men's Fancy Dancer Women's Fancy Shawl Dancer
Men's Straight Dancer Women's Jingle Dancer
All children under the age of 8 will also receive a money award on the last day. Dress your little ones and let them dance. Everyone really enjoys seeing them.
Registration
All dancers must register and receive a number before the first Grand Entry. You must be in all 3 Grand Entries and dance during the Powwow in your category. You will be judged on your regalia and your performance. You must also be in your regalia to receive your $300 award on Sunday.
Chance Dance...
Just because we wanted to add a little more fun, we have decided to do a Chance Dance. You can receive $25 for having the winning ticket. This will occur at the Emcee's discretion.
Participants need to register each day and receive a different color ticket for each day. There will be two opportunities each day to win, but you must be in the circle, dancing when the Emcee calls the winning number. If your number is called, you may go up to receive your prize!
MORE!
This year the Emcee is going to have a "Potato Dance". Bring your lucky potato, or we'll have one for you. And Albert Old Crow (our Emcee) tells us he will be coming up with even more dances to "move" you into a good time!
